Zurich, February 6th, 2024 – Classtime secures the next phase of growth: Following initial seed financing, the Zurich-based specialist for formative and summative assessments has now secured growth financing (Series A). This will enable the EdTech company to increase and accelerate growth in the DACH and US markets and to further develop core functions of the Classtime platform.
With Swiss Post Ventures and SuperCharger Ventures as well as private investors, Classtime has expanded its circle to include further high-caliber partners focused on the education sector for the next growth phase. “We are delighted that we were able to bring institutional partners on board in this financing round, which expands our own network and access to new markets and potential new partnerships,” says Jan Rihak, Co-CEO of Classtime.
Scaling and continued development
The Swiss edtech company will now focus on scaling in the DACH markets, the UK, and the USA. The further development of the Classtime platform will use generative AI to free teachers from even more routine tasks and generate in-depth assessment and learning content. The core functions for assessments will be expanded. “As before, we are using the resources extremely efficiently,” says Jan Rihak. And Co-CEO Valentin Ruest, responsible for the US market, adds: “Our goals are long-term. We are growing steadily in all markets. We listen. And we develop solutions that optimize educational processes and outcomes.”
Empirical evidence of the impact of educational software
Classtime will also invest more in the creation of evidence-based standards with the Jacobs Foundation. “We still need more empirical studies on the impact of educational software,” says Jan Rihak. “This is where we want to lead and contribute to increasing the understanding of the verifiably effective use of technology in the classroom.”
